Artist Statement:
"My images are a
deeply personal form of self-expression. They are an intimate
translation of what lies between my lens and my mind.
For me, it is about bringing out the beauty,
sadness, or excitement in what surrounds me, and translating my
ideas into an art form. The colors and textures I choose are
selected to create a subtle emotion that compliment the subject
rather than transform it.
In my portraits, the subjects I am drawn to
possess natural beauty, innocence, and subtlety. They are
delicate representations that possess a dreamy, childlike
sense. I prefer candid shots that capture natural expression –
spontaneous, uninhibited, and unreserved.
I am drawn to detail in expression, in textures,
and colors, and in sentiment. I attempt to communicate the
emotion of my images in less obvious ways, and find myself drawn
to dreamy, understated treatments.
I am inspired by many forms of photography and
alternative process techniques and attempt to incorporate
variations of these into my digital images. My ambition is to
create images that return the same sense of emotion for the
viewer as it has for the artist."
